Laughter really may be the best medicine.It provides a great workout to make your stomach tight and your heart strong,and regular laughing may make your immune system better.If you want to live a happy,healthy and joy-filled life,you need to make laughter part of your life.
How can we learn to laugh?Well,the first step is learning to find humorous things in life.For instance,you can watch funny movies and TV programs.When you want to read a newspaper,start with the funnies and the human interest stories before you get too deep into the depressing stuff.Instead of socializing with people who bring you down,hang out with your friends that are always making you laugh.More importantly,train yourself to smile as you’re working,walking,and even while you’re reading a book because smiling more will trick your body into helping put you in a good mood.
The second step is learning to relax.To achieve this,you should learn to laugh at yourself.If you can turn awkward moments,mistakes and shortcomings into opportunities for a good laugh at your own expense,those things will have less control over you.Also remember that everyone’s laugh is unique,so as long as yours is polite,you don’t need to worry about how ugly your laughter sounds.In addition,though you’re probably a busy person,you should remember to take time out for yourself and spend time just being yourself because this can keep you calm and ready to laugh.Thus,make sure you do something you enjoy each day,such as playing a record you love and having your favorite drink,so you can keep control of your mood.
